For many years, the Corolla area was served with a bookmobile once a month, then the county allotted a small room in the satellite office building for donated books to be circulated on the honor system.  

In 1997, the county made two small rooms a branch library open one day a week for 4 hours. The occupancy of that library was 2.  It was staffed by a library staff member from the Barco branch.  In 1998, library services were expanded to 4 days/19 hours per week.

The library is now open 40 hours per week and is a full service library.
