The Currituck County Library provides several types of outreach.
OUTREACH TO THE HOMEBOUND
Individuals who are homebound due to prolonged illness or disability may apply for outreach services. Please call the Branch Manager to apply. If you do not have a library card, it will be necessary to apply for one. An application can be mailed.
Patrons may request materials by author, subject, title or type of material. Items that are currently checked out can also be requested and the patron will be placed on the hold list. Items are checked out for 30 days. Deliveries are made once a month on the first Wednesday of the month.
BOOKS BY MAIL
Residents of Knotts Island and Gibbs Woods may request materials by mail. Materials may be requested by author, subject, title or type of material. Items that are currently checked out can also be requested and the patron will be placed on the hold list. Items may be kept for 21 days. A seven day grace

Please note that materials borrowed from other EARL libraries may not be returned via the Books by Mail program if they were borrowed in person.
OUTREACH TO DAYCARES
Outreach services are also provided to County daycares, both daycare centers and family daycares. Boxes containing 20 books selected by library staff are delivered and picked up by van once a month on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month.
