Summer Reading Program:

During the months of June, July, and August, the library participates in the statewide reading program. The theme for the 2008 summer will be Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library. Children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grades are invited to join the fun.

Guidelines:

In order for us to have an enjoyable and productive Story Time and to provide a positive learning experience for each child, we need your help in several areas.

Please be on time. Late arrivals are distracting to small children.

Please take your child to the bathroom before the program begins. Children at this age are copycats and if one goes they all want to go.

Please help with library manners. We are teaching the children to use quiet voices, walk, and take care of books. Personal conversations among the adults are distracting to the children and to the programmer. We ask parents to help reinforce these manners especially when the children come out of the program. This seems to be the time when they get the loudest.

Children become upset at times and may need to be taken from the program.

Story Times are broken into three different age groups. Please bring your child to the designated group.
